Introduction
The anticipated Smart Insight has been added to the Optimized Design Experience in the quarterly enhancements for QRC2 2025. This was previously available in the Classic stories, and many users lost this when they converted their stories to the Optimized Design Experience.
- Smart Insights provides summary observations for the underlying chart data, including the notable contributing members from the dimensions available.
- The Insights are presented through visualizations and natural language explanations
Using Smart Insights in a Chart
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the chart and select Smart Insights. You can select “Data Point” or, in this case, “Variance”.
- The Smart Insights panel opens in the window and provides an explanation for the key members driving the variance. Note that Smart Insights provides both written and visual explanations.
- In Edit mode, developers can replicate Smart Insight visual widgets by copying them to another story, duplicating them as a new page within the current story, or inserting them into an existing page of the same story.
