Overview

We have good news for users that are integrating SAP Analytics Cloud with Microsoft Excel. The data point comment feature is now supported in the add-in.

Users will be able to add comments to data cells and history will be displayed in a new tab of the add-in side pane. This benefit also applies to data formulas.

This new option is great for those users that want to retrieve comments that are entered in the web browser. In addition, users will also be able to edit or delete their own comments.

These are the steps if you are planning to add new comments or see the history in Microsoft Excel:

1. Click the data cell where you want to add a comment.

2. Select the Designer panel under the SAP Analytics Cloud menu. The Designer option is available next to the “Add Function” icon.

3. Enable the Data Point Commenting tab. This tab is located in the Designer panel. Go to the three dots next to the refresh icon and select the Data Point Commenting feature.

4. You can enter the comment in the box.

5. Select the “Add Comment” button.

6. Your comment will be added, and the history will be displayed.

7. Edit, Delete and Like options are available when you hover over the comment

8. You can identify data point comments if you see a red color in the corner of the cell:
