Overview

When working with Data Actions in the Data Action Designer, you can now sort parameters to customize the order in which they appear when a user runs the action.

This feature replaces the default alphabetical ordering. The primary benefit is that you can organize parameters in a more logical and user-friendly way for your end-users, for example:

  • Placing the most important or mandatory parameters first.
  • Creating a more intuitive workflow for planners.

Prerequisites

  • You must have Edit permissions for the Data Action.
  • Your Data Action must have at least two or more parameters defined.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps to reorder your parameters:

  1. Open the Data Action: Navigate to the Data Action you wish to edit and open it in the Data Action Designer.
  2. Locate the Parameters Panel: On the navigation bar, you will see the Parameters
  1. Activate Reorder Mode: Next to the “Parameters” heading, click the “Enable Sorting” icon. This icon typically looks like two up/down arrows.

By default, parameters are ordered based on the sequence they were created.

  1. Sort Your Parameters: Sort the parameters by using the arrow to move the parameters up or down. The default TargetVersion parameter can also be sorted using this function.

  1. Confirm and Save: Once you are satisfied with the new order, click Save in the top-left corner to save your changes to the Data Action.
