Overview

As a developer or end user of a tool, have you ever wondered: “In which SAP Analytics Cloud system/tenant am I actually making changes in?” or “What system data am I viewing/validating?”. The 2025 Q1 update has provided a solution to this. If you guessed it, kudos to you. Those who haven’t yet, in addition to customizing your Organization logo in the SAP Analytics Cloud screen or having a Notification banner, SAP went one step ahead to differentiate it. They have provided the capability of having a Custom banner over the shell bar where you can specify the System name or add a Custom Text and Color to differentiate different tenants. Let us go into a little more detail in this blog.

Introduction

You can add a tenant type indicator to help users identify which system they are using. Users can now differentiate between Test, Quality or Production system. When this feature is enabled, a colored information bar is visible to all users right at the top of the browser screen.

Prerequisites

You need to be a System Administrator to update system settings.

Procedure

Log into your SAC Tenant and go to System  -> Administration.

In the window that opens, click on the Default Appearance tab. Scroll down a little until you see the System Information section.

Turn on the Display the system information toggle. Next, click on the dropdown under Type to see the list of available options. You should see Test, Development, Production and Custom.

Select a tenant type from the list. If you want to create a Custom type, then select Custom from the dropdown, enter a Title and select a Color from the list of available options.

Result

The tenant information that you selected/configured is displayed to all users above the shell bar.
