Feature Overview

SAC’s gen AI feature Just Ask can now provide comparisons of measures and dimensions. These questions can be expanded to include parameters such as date, location, and even comparisons of measures/dimensions from different versions. The results depend on the wording of your question, so we’ll walk through a few examples from the new update.

Comparison Scenarios

We would like to use Just Ask to provide a quick comparison of measures from our model, in this case, Gross Sales and Operating Expenses. In the Question Bar, we’ll type compare Gross Sales with Operating Expenses by year. As a result, we receive a line chart of yearly gross sales with a bar chart showing variance.

Next, we would like to see another comparison of Gross Sales and Operating Expenses, but this time by location. In the Question Bar, we’ll type compare Gross Sales with Operating Expenses by Location. As a result, we receive a bar chart showing Gross Sales (blue) and variance (green).

Now, let’s narrow down our last question to just the year 2023. We’ll add this to the previous question: compare Gross Sales with Operating Expenses by Location year 2023. The result is a similar bar chart showing Gross Sales and variance, but this time only for the year 2023.

Finally, what if we want to compare Gross Sales from two different versions, Actual vs Budget? We’ll enter this question into the bar as compare Actual Gross Sales 2023 with Budget Gross Sales 2023. This time the result simply shows the variance from the year 2023.
