Introduction
In SAP Analytics Cloud stories, you can change how dimension, account, or measure members are sorted in a table. You can also keep members grouped when there are multiple dimensions on a row or column.
There are a few ways to sort dimension members in a table:
- Keeping rows or columns grouped
- Value sorting
- Default order
- A-Z (or lowest to highest)
- Z-A (or highest to lowest)
- Custom Order
Sorting Members in a Table:
1
In the table, select the dimension member header.
2
Right-click the cell, select Sort Options, and then choose a sort order: A-Z, Z-A, Custom Order.
Restriction
- Sort option is not available if you aren’t allowed to change the sort order for a particular dimension.
- Sorting on the Versiondimension is not currently supported for SAP Integrated Business Planning.
Results:
After the sort order is applied, information about the sort is added to the table subtitle. The information includes the member that is sorted and one of the following icons to indicate the type of sort that was applied.
Keep Members Grouped:
When you have multiple dimensions on a row or column and you sort on the innermost dimension, you can decide whether to keep the row or column sort results grouped together.
Restriction:
The member grouping options are only available for SAP acquired data models and SAP HANA live data connections.
The grouping status (Keep Left Columns Grouped, Keep Top Rows Grouped) can only be changed in the following situations:
- The inner dimension header of a row or column dimension is selected for sorting.
- Ascending or descending sort has been applied.
- Hierarchies are set to Flat presentation.
