Stories in SAC are a powerful way to view data and make informed decisions, but they require a person to have access to the SAC tenant and the story to view the story’s content. What if you need to present your valuable insights to a user group outside of SAP Analytics Cloud? Exporting stories makes it easy for us to do so.
To Export an SAC story to Google Slides:
1
The first thing we need to do is open the story we’d like to export. The story can be opened in either View or Edit.
2
Click File in the top right, then select Export.
3
In the Export Story As dialog box, change the file type to Google Slides.
Note
If you see the “Exporting to Google Slides?” dialog box, read the information, then click accept and continue. You may also check the box for “Got it! Don’t remind me again”. Click Accept & Continue.
You may have to sign into your Google account if this is your first time connecting your Google account to SAC. Check with your organization’s security guidelines before proceeding if you are unsure. Then click Allow.
4
Under My Drive, select the appropriate options for exporting to your Google Drive.
5
Under Page Layout/Settings, choose the options for your story export and name your export file.
Note
None of the settings here will “Make or Break” your export. It is important to choose a meaningful file location, and it would be beneficial to export to a destination folder, but it is up to the owner of the Google Drive from here.
6
Click Export at the bottom. You will then see a progress bar as your story is exported and saved as a Google Slides file in the specified Google Drive.
7
You will be notified when the export is complete. From here, it is recommended you navigate to the destination Google Drive and check to ensure the Google Slides file is accessible.
8
Finally, open the Exported Google Slides file to view the export result.
